Preparation
of your food begins very early every morning when our cook arrives
to build a bed of coals then carefully tends to meats in the open pit
until
they are tender and succulent.
Did you
know...
We have the biggest open pit this side
of the Mason-Dixon Line. During our busy season we use as much
as four cords of wood a month and
prepare
over
1,000 pounds
of meat a
day!
Once they have met his approval, they are joined with our special
blend of seasonings, spices and other ingredients, otherwise
known as our Famous BBQ Sauce, so that you can enjoy the finest
BBQ in all of New England!
Our Corn Chowder
was recently voted 'Best Corn Chowder in New Hampshire' by
New Hampshire Magazine! Here is what they had to say... "The little pink
pigs cavorting on the sign for The Yankee Smokehouse (539-RIBS) in West
Ossipee gained their rotundity, we’re sure, because they couldn’t
stop eating the creamy corn chowder served inside. Go for the succulent
ribs,
but begin with the chowder."

The Yankee
Smokehouse serves TWO types of smoked BBQ ribs. - The Smokehouse
Ribs, which we are famous for, are large pork
spare ribs, specially ordered from the mid-west and are of the
finest quality available.
The Baby
Back Ribs are the smaller ribs. They are especially
noted for their sweet, tender flavor and are very lean.
You have the
choice to dine with us in our air-conditioned Dining Room or at
a picnic table on our deck in the summer - a nice way to enjoy
our location at the base of Mt. Whittier.
